Shifting Perspectives

Photography, to me, is about ritualizing ways of seeing. The subject matter of my work is self observation through snapshots of day to day existence. As such, my images become documents to authentic responses – a visual diary.

For me, the ‘decisive moment’ marks both a spiritual and psychological peaks. It records a state of presence which either resonates with, or reflects upon, an inner state of being.

My editorial choices and the form I construct when exhibiting my work, are motivated by the wish to explore myself through juxtaposing seemingly unrelated fragments of time and place. Thus, moving away from the stillness of the single frame, and the singular context it suggests.

‘Shifting Perspectives’ consists of 42 images organized as a grid and mounted onto Aluminium plates, floating about the surface of the wall.
